Home alone at Easter might sound a little sad to some, but I must say I am enjoying every second of it.

I have been out and about in the garden doing some much needed tidying up and of course some stitching and planning.

The roses are doing their last minute thing and its just started to rain just to add a little more freshness to the air.

The nimble fingers have been working hard on these cute little spools.

I think they might go towards making a soft and pretty baby quilt with some applique of course!

I really needed to make some of these little blocks after seeing the lovely quilt that a friend, Lisa, has just completed. Really very pretty and she is going to use it as a table cloth!!

Well “no rest for the wicked” as they say, I am off now to help the kids do some painting on their house…..there is method in my madness though….because the sooner the painting is finished the sooner they come and get the rest of their belongings and I can use that space for………more sewing things!

I am happy to say that I had a wonderful trip out to Dubbo and back. The country side is so green and pretty at the moment. If you get a chance over Easter or the next school holiday break then why not take a road trip out to Gulgong, Mudgee or Dubbo and take a peek at our beautiful country.

This was my first year at the Dubbo Craftalive show and what a wonderful time I had.

I caught up with shoppers that I had met throughout 2012 and made new friends and of course spent time with my brother and his family.

There were lots of ideas and projects to choose from including Quilting, paper crafts and embroidery.

Robyn, from “Robyn’s Creative Sewing threads was there with her beautiful work.

and Anne from Piccaninni Patchwork was also there with some great bargains.

Miss Elizabeth and her friends enjoyed their first outing and were very well received indeed.

Thank you everyone for a lovely weekend.

The fabric has been rolling in thick and fast over the past 2 weeks and I have finally got all of it on the website.

There are lovely new soft and pretty florals, checks and stripes as well as shirtings and reproduction fabrics and these can all be found at the “Just Arrived” page online.

I have been busy updating the fabric pages of the website and hopefully choosing your fabrics will now be a little easier for you with new catagories.

Clearance Fabrics

panier de fleurs

With so many  lovely fabrics having just arrived last week  and many more coming I thought it might be a good idea to make some extra space and  add more fabrics to the  “Clearance” page over at the website.

I dont think these fabrics will last very long so hop on over and get yours now.

At just $4.00 per 50cm there are some great bargains to be had. So make sure that you place a “1” in your quantity box for 50cm or “2” for a metre etc.

Now on some of those fabrics there may be only a small amount left or there might be close to a full bolt so why not try your luck!

So that I get the postage correct for you please check the words “Clearance Items on Sale” on the first page of your shopping cart. Feel free to add other full price merchandise to your order but be advised that the postage may change.

For those of you who shop with me often you will know that I always review every order and will always use the most cost effective postage option for you.

Happy Shopping

P/S…..Those lovely new fabrics will be listed on the web over the next few days so keep checking back to the “Coming Soon” page or “Just Arrived”.

Just to let everyone know, I will be closed on Thursday March 14th 2013.

We are having a scheduled “Power Outage” in our street on this day and I will also be in Dubbo.

Power outages in my street also mean that we have no running water because we are on tank water only…….so “no power no pump for the water”.

Thank you for your understanding.

Shop hours will be as usual the following week.

If you are avid fan of reproduction fabrics by Judy Rothermel, Paula Barnes and Faye Burgos then you will love what has just arrived on my doorstep.

Lovely fabrics in a great range of colours just waiting for you to put them to good use.

These are just some of the prints available for backgrounds and very pretty ones for those of you who just love to fussy cut.

Something for everyone!

Next week I am off to Dubbo for the Craft Alive show and will be releasing the new range of designs for this year. They will include 3 new quilts, including Miss Elizabeth, a ruler bag (very cute), a felted wool needle book (even cuter) and cushions. Patterns for all of these items will be at the show and online.

Why not come along to the show if your close or maybe even have a weekend away there is lots to do in the area.

Just thought I would share this wonderful picture of two girls whom I have known and loved since birth..(there is a third but she is not here).

Today after school and before we went to Karate, Mackenzie and Reiley had been at me to do some sewing…..so as it happened I had a bag full of covered 1″ hexagons left over from “Miss Elizabeth” ( the pattern will be ready in about 10 days time) and so they set about making hexagon flowers.

Their work was just great for a 10 and 8 year old and they were so excited. Their goal is to make a cushion. Good on them….start them young I say and enrich their days.

So again this Thursday they will be back to make more……can’t wait!

Out and about the garden this morning taking some images of new sewing projects (available in March), I stopped to marvel at this wonderful gerbera flower. I was given this plant by a friend who worked at plant research centre. Unfortunately the plant must be sterile as it has never reproduced but just take a look at the single bloom……

It is an enormous 17cm across the face!

So here is my version of the Lucy Boston quilt…….the quick version that is…….”Lucy in a Hurry”!

The pattern will be available mid March……

Happy stitching
