Whilst making my new quilt “Louisa” I was looking for an easy way to centre the circle of rounded hexagons onto the central flower.
I found this easiest to do referring to the pattern sheet and then drawing with my compass the inside circle onto freezer paper. Cut out the circle and press onto the centre of the main flower … position the circle of hexagons around the outside edge of the freezer paper, pin into place and then remove the freezer paper. Stitch the hexagons to secure…….perfect placement.
When stitching outside scallop into place, I cut some lengths of scrap fabric and tacked onto the raw edges of the border strip to stop freying.
