Here is the first sneaky look at my new quilt using 1″ hexagons. I wasnt going to do another hexagon quilt ….but here we are at it again.
As usual I dont start with a plan, just an idea and everything evolves from there. I have used lots of my “Yuwa” scraps for the lozenges and the background is a wonderful fabric from moda called Fruit Cake ( No. 30150-89) designed by Basic Grey. I think I will use the pretty new fabric from Moda by 3 Sisters…Luna Notte 4037-13, as the next border. After that, who knows?, maybe time for some needleturn applique!
If you are looking to “top up ” your Yuwa stash then just remember that you can purchase these fabrics through my website with just a minimum of 10cm to purchase.
Since discovering the wonderful “sewline Glue pen and refills” hexagons have been just a breeze. There are some tips to remember when using this pen and you will find these in my “sewing tips” section. The glue pen and refills are available from me for $8.80 ea and $5 ea . One inch hexagon papers by busyfingers are also available at 50 pieces for $6. Just email me with any questions you might have.

Thankyou. The next part of the reveal is not far away
Those are very pretty hexagons ! Very nice ancient looking fabrics. I have just finished a “grandmother flowers’ garden” quilt. It took a long time to blossom… but it will be on our coffee table for Christmas, for sure ! All made of scraps, mostly in green shades. I enjoyed sewing it all by hand, always having some hexagons in my handbag wherever I went. Good luck with your own quilt !
